Introducing Metria
Metria is a surveying and digital modelling practice founded by people who’ve sat on the other side of this work – translating the physical site into usable digital information from first survey through to handover and beyond.
We put people before process and technology and value strong, trusting relationships. Whether helping clients on their first steps into digitisation or delivering high-quality outputs for a tech-savvy client, we take time to understand their ambition and what is really important to them. Our solutions are tailored accordingly so the results meet their requirements and the journey is as smooth as possible.
Built on experience
Luke Fowler and Matthew Bott didn’t start out as surveyors. Between them, they spent years working in design and BIM management for Tier 1 UK contractors on some of the UK’s largest and most complex construction projects – on the receiving end of survey data, not producing it. They saw firsthand what happens when that data doesn’t hold up: decisions made on assumption, models that don’t match the as-built reality, problems surfacing mid-project instead of before it. That’s why they founded Metria.
They’re joined by Antonio Sánchez and Manuel Villegas, whose backgrounds in engineering, technical delivery, surveying and BIM in the UK and EU provide a seamless end-to-end workflow.
Over the past eight years, together they’ve combined that site-side experience with modern digital workflows and multiple survey technologies – covering everything from the Brief at RIBA Stage 1 through to Handover and In Use at Stages 6 and 7: surveying, laser scanning, digital modelling, design management, information management and technical project delivery. Their focus is on quality information and quality relationships, aimed at outcomes and not outputs.
Their experience spans major commercial, infrastructure, heritage and operational environments, including Battersea Power Station and a range of nationally significant developments.
Producing data was never the point. What matters is what your team can do with it - which is why we focus on translating complex technologies and processes so that the people using them understand in their own terms what will work for them and how, whether in design, construction or asset/estate management. Information your decisions can actually rest on, not data you have to take on faith.

We capture existing environments, build coordinated digital models, and organise project information so it’s understood and usable at every stage of a project’s life – not just the moment it’s collected.
That’s not only about technically correct outputs. It’s about seeing what is valuable and identifying information that’s practical, coordinated, and aligned with what the project actually needs – fewer decisions resting on assumption, fewer surprises further down the line.

Every project has its own pressures, but the moments that cause real damage are familiar: a BIM model that doesn’t match the as-built structure, found mid-construction. A ‘single use’ point cloud survey using a hand-held scanner for a specific purpose that is then used for another, with disastrous consequences. Missed intel on-site that could have saved an asset manager time and cost.
